The IRS MOS Chapter once again conducted our Annual “Holiday Care Package Drive” for deployed troops on October 23rd and 24th 2019.
Last year we partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) who came and assisted us with preparing boxes and working at the donation table. We continued that partnership again this year and assisted with putting together packages for our brave men and women in uniform overseas.
For a little background, the Pittsburgh’s chapter of MOS started the care package drive for military members in 2010. Through 2018, we have shipped a total of over 410 packages weighing 4,020.1 pounds all over the world to military members.
This year, the Pittsburgh Liberty Guardians shipped 49 boxes weighing a total of 392 pounds. Donations were again very generous this year and were able to cover all shipping costs. It was a very successful drive.
This is a wonderful way to show our support for the troops.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and donated, whether it be a simple “Thank you” card, monetary, or provided donated items. Every bit counts and is very much appreciated by the troops we send packages to.
