Per 38 U.S.C. Section 101(2): The term “veteran” means a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable. Per workforce data for fiscal year 2021, the IRS had 7,722 veterans in the IRS workforce, including 4,004 with disabilities.
