This holiday season, the Ogden Chapter of Military Outreach Service for Troops and the Ogden Campus employees joined with the 2013 Stockings for Soldiers community project to show support of our veterans. The all-volunteer team of Ogden employees gather, sort and package the donated items. MOST sends the care packages to military personnel stationed overseas.
Carol Permar, MOST National president, said, “We want to wish all the soldiers a happy holiday and let them know that we haven’t forgotten them.”
MOST provides support to our active and retired veterans of the United States.
When the community comes together, we are able to improve the lives of our members and veterans everywhere. “We are so happy with the positive turn out of support from the employees who are willing to give to the troops this time of year,” said Marie Judkins, Ogden chapter president.
This year, the team assembled more than 47 boxes with the donated items that weighed approximately 500 lbs. Eight soldiers located in Korea and Afghanistan received the care packages filled with food, toiletries, socks, candy, DVDs and games.
“Without the employee’s help, this wouldn’t be possible,” said Marie. “Thank you to the folks at Ogden for the great support and donations.”
