Veterans Day Message from MOS National President

Veterans Day Poster

This Wednesday, 11 November, is a day for Veterans to celebrate that time in our lives when we were in the “care of Uncle Sam”…that is in the service to our country. It’s also a time for those who have supported us over the years to celebrate with us by listen to our stories, cry with us over our losses and sing our songs.

We have served in all 5 branches of service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard). We were enlisted and were commissioned officers. As veterans, we did and saw things that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. We lived in the some of the most diverse communities in some of the most interesting and remotest places in the world. We volunteered because we were patriotic; we wanted to get away from home and start a new life; we wanted money for college or it was a family tradition. Some of us were drafted and didn’t have a choice. We served during conflict and peacetime. Some of us were in combat. Some of us were wounded or lost a friend or lost a marriage or even found the love of our lives.

Thank you all for the sacrifices that you’ve made. Enjoy your day and share your stories with your friends and loved ones.
