Announcements and News: New MOS Bylaws Approved

New MOS Bylaws Approved

By a voting margin of 94 percent, the amended Bylaws of Military Outreach for Service were officially approved after a long process and two membership voting cycles.
In May 2013, then President John Gray began working with the Bylaws Committee to rewrite the Bylaws to make MOS a more effective and efficient nonprofit organization and to overcome challenges posed by a demographically dispersed membership.
  • Provide the National Governance Board (NGB) a faster route to decision-making
  • Tighten fiscal controls
  • More clearly define roles and responsibilities
  • Ease local Chapter governance
  • Allows the NGB to manage by policy directives as well as adhering to the Bylaws
  • Remove actions that proved unrealistic
The current officers of the NGB expressed its gratefulness to all the members who contributed to improving the Bylaws.
Local Chapters may need to adjust their own bylaws to adhere to the new national Bylaws.
