Title

Help Treasury Celebrate a Proper Veterans Day

Body

(From http://hco.web.irs.gov/about/comm/newscenter/VeteransDay2013.html)

All IRS veterans: Veterans Day is fast approaching. The Department of Treasury is planning to celebrate by highlighting our veterans service-wide. Treasury is forming a veteran wall which will be shown at the Veterans Day Celebration in Washington D.C. – the date and place to be announced later. Veterans service-wide are invited to participate in the veteran wall by sending an individual photo (in uniform) and include your rank, military branch, and occupation (e.g. SSG Pamela Johnson, Army, Military Intelligence Analyst). Send all information by Sept. 20, 2013 to vets@irs.gov.

For D.C.-based veterans: Treasury is seeking one veteran from each bureau to participate in the panel discussion during the Veterans Day Celebration. The panel will share their stories about their transition experiences from the military to the public sector. If you are interested in applying to become a panel member for this event, submit your application by Sept. 20, 2013 to vets@irs.gov. Your application should be a short write-up (no more than one page) of your experience and include the following information:

  • Journey from military to civilian sector/public service
  • Military branch and occupation
  • Current position in IRS

If you copy the information to me, along with that dashing photo, I’ll post it on the MOS website heroes page (sending it to me implies consent).
