Peachtree Patriots Co-President Speaks Out on MSNBC

Body

"No, he will be the man in the house, not of the house," Pamela McBride, military spouse and co-president of the Peachtree Patriots Chapter of MOS, jokingly replied in response to a comment about her middle-school son being the "man of the house" during her husband's deployment.

Pamela was co-featured on a Disrupt America show on MSNBC on July 21, 2013, in a feature by Karen Finney on the falling unemployment rate for military veterans. According to the newscast, the unemployment rate was down to 7.2% from 11.7% six months ago.

Pamela was speaking about changes in relationships and challenges in roles and responsibilities faced by military families. Pamela was also asked how technology and social media have changed communications in families. She said that a letter used to take two weeks for delivery during Operation Desert Storm. More recently, her family has used teleconferencing and social media to keep in touch.
