Attention! First Chance to Order MOS-IRS Dog Tags Right Here!

Body

What is it?

Many of you have asked for something other than name tags to identify yourselves as proud MOS-IRS members.

We listened to your suggestions and have come up with the MOS-IRS dog tag (similar to a Challenge Coin, for all of you who remember them) that replicates our MOS-IRS logo.

You can use the MOS-IRS dog tag on a key chain, a heavy-duty jacket zipper pull or for whatever your imagination can dream up. We are not engraving names on the back, because you will have to do this individually. These dog tags will also make nice mementos for guest speakers and any other dignitaries that help out MOS-IRS, so people who are in chapters should plan ahead and order extras for this purpose.

How do I order dog tags?

If you are calling in to a specific chapter for a telephone meeting on a regular basis, tell them how many you want. Then that chapter will e-mail  Jon Bird (Jon.P.Bird@irs.gov) with the total number and provide  him with a single shipping address . The goal is keep individual orders to a minimum, so please coordinate with your Chapter first if one is available.

How much are they?

Your cost is $10 per coin, including shipping.

What's next?

  1. Jon is assembling the provisional orders from all of the Chapters, which may include some of you, so he can get a good idea of the total number of coins that he will order. He's guessing 300, but that is just a SWAG (all you ex-military should know what a SWAG is). This total will allow him to get a final price, which is very much quantity-dependent.
  2. Once he finalizes the numbers (and obtains payment in advance), he will take care of purchasing these dog tags. He thinks he can drop-ship to 6-7 locations and will take care of those requests first. If he ends up doing individual mailings, it will have to be in his free time (and there may be an individual cost for postage/envelopes).

How do I pay?

Please make your check payable to "IRS-MOS" with "Dog Tag" in the memo field and mail to:

        MOS-IRS

        Roger Janosek, National Treasurer

        P.O. Box 810743

        Farmer's Branch, TX 75381-0843

When do we get our coins?

This will very much depend on when we get the funds so we can go ahead an order. He would expect a time frame of 60-90 days, but that is another SWAG. Be rest assured that he will ride this project like a broke mule, so it won't get away and will do his best to get the coins in. Jon will then drop-ship them to each chapter and in some cases may ask the chapters to ship coins out directly to you.

What if I belong to no chapter or an inactive chapter?

We haven't forgot about you. See the attachment to this annoucement to learn how to place your order.

Is there a deadline for this order?

Glad you asked. The deadline to make our first order is July 21, 2010. We may order more later on, depending on what kind of volume we can generate for the vendor's price breaks.

By the way, if you have already ordered through your Chapter, you can ignore all this! But if you read this far, thanks for your interest and support!

If you have questions, you can e-mail Jon, but remember, he is trying to minimize the handling of individual one-coin orders. This is a collective effort to help our MOS-IRS members across the country, so every Chapter leader will have to pitch in to make this project a success.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

s/ Jon Bird
