Do you know of a Veteran who recently returned from Afghanistan or Iraq, who is disabled and new to your area. As an example, if I knew of such a Veteran living in Long Beach, California and I know the doctors recommended the Veteran should get out and be around other people, how about a day sailing trip with a group? There is a group that offers rides on a sail boat to groups of Disabled Veterans. But, wait, what about transportation for a Veteran that does not know about the area, how can they get from Long Beach to the sail boat docked at the California Long Beach Harbor?
The National Resource Directory provides access to services and resources at the national, state and local levels that support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration.
This website has information about all sorts of resources for veterans for each state. This is a wonderful website and resource that is worth checking out. Go to: http://www.nationalresourcedirectory.gov . To find resources in your area, go to the dropdown list for Find Information by State or Territory, then click on Go.
Do your part and get the word out to any veteran you know in need of help.
